Hello delegates, it is a real honor to serve as the chair in the United Kingdom Parliamentary Committee (UKPC) at the THAIMUN VIII conference. My name is Yewon Nam, and I am a junior at Ruamrudee International School (RIS) in Bangkok. I am from Korea though I stayed in Chennai, India - and attended American International School in Chennai (AISC) - for almost 7 years. This is my first year living and attending MUN conference in Thailand, so I am greatly looking forward to seeing you all in person. I joined the MUN club in my previous school when I was in grade 6, so this year is my 7th year of taking part as the member of the MUN. I have attended 4 international conferences as a delegate and 3 intra school conferences as both chair and delegate. I have gone through the difficulties and concerns you guys might have now as you prepare for the conference, so please do not hesitate to contact me through yewonn22@rism.ac.th to ask for help or clarification regarding the conference or committee in general (especially UKPC delegates). Hope you stay safe and see you all in the conference.

Hi there!
I’m Tahmim (tah as in taffy and mim as in memelord), I’m a Year 12 at International Pioneers School, and I’ll be one of your chairs for UKPC this THAIMUN. Contrary to how old I may look like in my picture, I’m 16 *cries in lack of sunscreen*. I’m from Bangladesh, but I’ve been living in Thailand for the last 4 years. I’m currently in Y12, taking my AS in Biology, Psychology, Economics and Business, so be prepared to hear me complain about it all through the conference. I’m especially excited to chair THAIMUN this year, because this conference has always had a special place in my heart. It’s where I learnt how to break out of my shell and find a community of awesome, like-minded people - and I hope you will too! Whether this is your first-ever conference or a stepping stone among others, I hope you will find UKPC a memorable experience - I promise I’ll try my best to make it. Anyway, that’s it for me, if you need any help along the way you can find me at tahmim.sit@ips.ac.th . |

Hello everyone!
My name is Jeremy and I am honored to be chairing UKPC Backroom at THAIMUN VIII. I’m currently a sophomore at ICS as well as the secretary for our school’s MUN club. My career in MUN is relatively short, two years counting this school year, with a conference count of 6. If not dying from the overload of AP World History notes or preparing for a conference, you can find me reading or practicing 40 hours a day (wink). While I may not be as experienced as some other chairs, I will be trying my best to make this year’s THAIMUN enjoyable for delegates, whatever that may take. I am looking forward to seeing all of you in action this march, and stay safe everybody! If you have any questions or want to contact me my e-mail is yhkjeremy@gmail.com, or you can check out my IG @korean.young. |
Hi guys! My name is Manon and I’m looking forward to meeting each of you at the THAIMUN conference. I am currently in 12th grade and have been homeschooled for my whole life. I’ve also lived in China for thirteen years and can speak Chinese. This will be my first time attending MUN as a chair but I have attended as a delegate five times. At my first MUN conference I was very nervous (so nervous that I repeatedly begged my mom to let me stay home) but now I am grateful that MUN has been a part of my life. It has definitely helped improve my public speaking skills and confidence. Outside of MUN, I enjoy creative hobbies such as drawing and writing poetry. I’m also a big Taylor Swift fan, so if you like her too I’m sure we’ll be friends! I can’t wait to help serve as a chair in the UKPC Committee and am excited to see what ideas you all come up with. My email is manonmowery@icloud.com if anyone needs to contact me.
Good luck and have fun debating! |
