Honorable delegates, fellow chairs, and most esteemed guests, 
I am Charlotte Kim, a sophomore at Seoul International School (SIS), and I am more than honored to serve as your Head Chair for the Disarmament and International Security Committee (DISEC) at THAIMUN XII. Ever since I took my first step in the realm of MUN in seventh grade, the speeches I heard, the resolutions I wrote, and the friendships I made were the fuel to the fire that is my love for MUN. As your head chair at THAIMUN, I am more than excited to share my enthusiasm for MUN with you all. For all of my delegates—feel free to reach out if you need any advice or support! Remember that at the end of the day, my deputy chair and I are here to support you! I have no doubt that the resolutions we create, the photos we take, and the friendships we make will have an impact that extends far beyond the bounds of this conference. My name is Olivia Jian Lee, and I am honored to serve as the Deputy Chair of the DISEC Committee at THAIMUN XII. I am currently a junior at St. Johnsbury Academy Jeju in South Korea. My journey at MUN began with my esteemed advisor's recommendation, who recognized my interest in oratory and diplomatic skills. Since then, I have found immense fulfillment in engaging in substantive debates and fostering meaningful collaboration with fellow delegates. It is a privilege to guide you through this conference, and the discussions we will undertake will be thought-provoking and lead to impactful resolutions. My fellow chair and I are here to support you throughout this experience. Let us work together to make this conference remarkable and enriching for all participants.
