Greetings, delegates of the Historical Crisis Committee! I’m Ohn Onkchareon. You may have heard of me from others as the chair who single-handedly L + ratioed a delegate during the ConcordianMUN conference, or as the “Korea fanboy” who is simultaneously joking about being a war criminal, however now, I shall be your chair for HCC. I am currently a Year 13/Grade 12 student at St. Andrews 107, and also the secretary-general of its MUN Club.
With a roster of over 14 conferences, both national and international, you could say that I am well-versed in the fields of Model UN, as I find it not only an enriching experience but also one which can broaden your horizons and gain new, nuanced perspectives of the world as a whole. Moreover, I have also previously chaired two conferences and earned the best delegate award in both DISEC and coincidentally, HCC. When I’m not doing Model UN, however, you can find me either stressing out over the IB (who probably violates the principles of the Geneva Convention), working out in the gym, playing the violin, or arguing with people of various different political ideologies over controversial issues - all while listening to Korean music, because apparently, I’m a Koreaboo. I look forward to meeting you all soon and to a fruitful and engaging crisis. If you have any and all questions, feel free to contact me, and I shall respond in due course. Have fun preparing for the conference, and remember that MUN is FUN, especially the crisis aspect of it! Hi HCC delegates!
I’m Karis, and I am a senior at International Community School. First, I would like to welcome all HCC delegates to THAIMUN, and I am super excited that we can have an in-person conference this year! It was a pleasure chairing HCC at THAIMUN last year, and I believe we will have much more fruitful debate due to being in-person! By the time this conference begins, I will be chairing for my fifth conference. My most recent conference I attended was IASASMUN at the UNESCAP building here in Bangkok. To me, the best part of MUN conferences are meeting like-minded friends and creating solutions for real situations in this world. Outside of MUN, I enjoy reading, golfing, and watching Netflix. If you need any book or Netflix recommendations, ask me! Again, I’m super excited for this years’ conference, and if you have any questions, feel free to reach out to my email kariseyim@gmail.com. Have fun preparing for the conference! |
Greetings delegates of the HCC!
My name is Pawat Bhiroonjitti (he/him) and my nickname is Wan. I'm currently a Mathayom 5 (Grade/Year 11) student at Triam Udom Suksa School in Bangkok, Thailand. Aside from my great interest in debating, politics and history which have brought me into the world of MUNs, some of my biggest interests also include astronomy (flat earthers beware!), music (mostly Taylor Swift), and reading (any recommendations are welcome). Anyways, back to the topic of MUNs. I have participated in various events as a delegate, including in ThaiMUN IX last year, and I have a few previous experiences in chairing. As a politics and history nerd (the good meaning not the bad one) who will serve as one of the backroom chairs in this committee, I will work hard with my colleagues to ensure that the simulation storyline progresses well and that your experience in the simulation as a delegate is as good as possible. I hope that this simulation will be a memorable and rewarding experience for all. If you have any questions regarding the committee (or anything else really), feel free to contact me at pawatbhir.wan@gmail.com. See you soon delegates! |

Hello Future HCC Delegates:
I’m Beckett Nikitas, and I am honored to be one of your Chairs for THAIMUN X! Get excited for an amazing conference with riveting debate this March! I can’t wait to get to know you all as delegates and people at THAIMUN this year. Model UN is really important to me and I am excited to share my passion for it with all of you. I look forward to helping all of you grow as delegates and global citizens. A little bit about myself: I am currently a highschool sophomore at Francis W. Parker School in Chicago, in the United States. I have been doing Model UN since 6th grade, THAIMUN will be my 10th Conference. While I have only chaired once before this I am excited and ready to step into the conference this year as a chair. Besides being particularly interested in Foreign Policy and International relations I am interested in marine science and engineering as well as Biology. When I am not doing Model UN I am participating as part of my school’s underwater robotics team, and quiz bowl team. Outside of school, I enjoy biking and aerial photography. I am super excited to be your backroom chair this year and I can't wait to meet you all! |
Welcome to HCC!
My first Model United Nations I represented Ukraine as a delegate during IASAS. Having crisis as your first conference or just being in crisis in general can be intimidating, but I promise you’ll have fun :) The historical crisis committee is a unique committee, challenging delegates to think on their feet. The rules of procedure can be difficult to get used to initially, but crisis is an experience like no other. I’m currently a sophomore at the International School of Bangkok, and although I’ve only been in MUN for 2 years, I’ve been to numerous conferences. This is my first time chairing, so please bear with me if I mess up :) This is my first ever THAI MUN experience, and I’m so honored to be working with you all. In my free time, I enjoy reading, cleaning, and lifting (albeit, very badly.) I’m very excited to meet you all, please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions :) |
