Hi all! I’m Majah ( she/her ) , a year 11 ( Grade 10 ) from Harrow International School Bangkok, and it’s a pleasure to be the Editor-in-chief for this year’s Press Corps committee! Since I joined the MUN community four years ago, I have attended six conferences where I chaired 2 of them. The beauty of MUN in my opinion is not confined to the debate or drafting resolutions but the friendships formed is another key aspect of MUN that I admire, so what better committee to do that than the Press Corps?
During last year’s THAIMUN IX conference, I was lucky enough to be the delegate of BBC in the press corps and it was definitely one to remember. The Press Corps is a unique committee where we will play a significant role in distributing information throughout the conference. In addition to serving as a source of information, we'll have the opportunity to meet with various delegates for interviews and even organize press conferences. Undoubtedly, you’ll develop friendships both inside and outside the committee! Lastly, let me extend a warm welcome to the Press Corps and I'm certain we're going to have a great time making sure everyone has access to reliable information during the conference. Please feel free to get in contact with me via email (majah_si@harrowschool.ac.th ) or on Instagram ( @majah.siri ) if you have any questions, concerns, or even just want to chat! Can’t wait to meet you all in March:) |
Hello fellow delegates, and welcome to Press Corps. My name is Krit Yodinlom and I’m honored to be your chair for this THAIMUN conference. Currently, I’m 16 years old and attending Ruamrudee International School (RIS) as a junior. I’m fluent in English, living in America and Canada for 8 years combined, can speak some chinese and thai, and can speak very little spanish.
I’ve been a part of MUN since sixth grade, and have attended 8 MUN conferences, chaired for 2, and have got 6 years of MUN under my belt, however, this will be my first time chairing a special committee. Aside from MUN, my passions include cross country, softball, badminton, playing the piano and playing the trumpet. I’m planning to become a doctor in the future and am currently taking the IB diploma. I can’t wait to see you all at the conference! If you have any questions about the THAIMUN, Press Corps, or want advice on any topic in general, feel free to email me at krity24@rism.ac.th or send me a message at @kritzos on instagram. |

Dear Delegates,
Welcome to this year’s THAIMUN Press Corps! Before you get started with this study guide, I’d like to briefly introduce ourselves to you. My nickname is Poj and I am currently a high school sophomore in Bangkok. My hobbies include reading novels and enjoying a game of badminton (I regret to inform any of the more athletically capable of you that this is the only sport I enjoy). I’m also an avid Roblox player with a love for Rise of Nations which simulates nation-building. More importantly, I also enjoy writing articles for my school magazine and contributed to a youth-run news outlet as editor and writer, focusing mainly on international affairs. In addition to this, I also co-founded an organization aimed at reducing language barriers to learning about international affairs and MUN in Thailand named the Barriers Initiative. My participation in model United Nations stems from my attempt to understand a seemingly random world through which I was introduced to the world of politics, history, and economics of which access to information is so crucial. Luckily, in no other committee will we be able to so closely explore how the dissemination of information informs how we interpret this chaos. I look forward to seeing all of you! Sincerely, Chatpat (Poj) Tanavongchinda |
